Super Roster
Our meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, February to November, at the Galston Community Centre, 37 Arcadia Rd, Galston, at 8 p.m. to around 10 p.m
The club was established in 1983 when a number of interested people met in the Community Centre in Arcadia Road. Now in its 26th year the club continues to flourish. In an area noted for its nurseries and semi rural ambience the club has an important role in the life of the local community.
This role is highlighted each year when the club holds its annual Open Gardens Weekend to raise money for various charitable organisations. Commenced in 1991 this event has raised many thousands of dollars for both local and more broadly based worthy causes.
We are pleased to have as our Patron Mrs Judy Horton, the well known horticulturalist, author and broadcaster.

Galston is home to Fagan Park, 52 Hectares of parkland with its Gardens of Many Nations including the Mediterranean, South African, Netherlands, South America, North and America, Australian and the United Kingdom. Picnic and barbecue facilities and an excellent childrens' playground, birdlife on its major dams and remnant forest.
History Cottage is located in Galston Road, adjacent to Galston Park and provides resources on local history.
One of our members will help you with information & answer questions.
Members bring cuttings, plants and bulbs for sale on the Trading Table. Plants are brought to the Trading Table prior to the meeting, but sales do not start until after the end of the meeting about 9.30 p.m. Funds raised go to pay rent for the hall and buy books for the library etc.
Tea or coffee and biscuits are served at the end of the meeting, free of charge, in the small meeting room near the main entrance. Two members volunteer for the Supper Roster each month to serve supper.
We have a large and extensive library of books, videos and DVDs. They may be borrowed free of charge by club members.
Gardening questions can be asked at meetings, or write, email or phone them beforehand.
Interesting flowers and plants can be brought along for Show and Tell.
This event is traditionally held over the 3rd weekend in October each year. Commencing on the Friday is a Garden Lovers Delight package, reasonably priced, designed to cater to groups and for which bookings are necessary. The package includes entry to four or five gardens, a Devonshire Morning Tea, lunch in a corporate marquee in one of the gardens accompanied by musical entertainment normally provided by the Police Concert Band.
Visitors on the Saturday and Sunday are not required to book. Tickets for these days can be obtained through the Galston Club, 19 Arcadia Road, Galston, Tel 9653 2017 and will be available from early September. There are usually ten gardens open for inspection with all profits earmarked for various charities.
The club meets at 8pm on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (December and January excepted) in the Galston Community Centre (formerly the Galston School of Arts), 37 Arcadia Road, Galston. Activities organised by the club include:-
- Guest speakers on a wide range of gardening topics
- Trading table where plants can be purchased at very reasonable prices
- Coach tours to various gardens, nurseries, parks and other places of gardening interest.
- Provision of a comprehensive library of gardening related books and DVDs which can be borrowed through the Club Librarian.
- An opportunity to socialise at the conclusion of the meetings when supper is served.
$20 per single ($10 after July), $25 per family ($12.50 after July). Club badges are $7.50.
